I have Windows XP. Will my site work on Linux?

Yes, your site will work on our Linux servers without any problems.

I am Mac user. Will my site work on Linux?

Sure, your sites will work on our Linux servers and you can manage content with any favorite editor such is Dreamweaver. We love Macs!

Do you support international domain names?

Yes, we host all TLDs (domain name extensions) around the globe. For example: hosting.vg (British Virgin Islands), westnic.co.uk (UK), westnic.at (Austria), westnic.de (Germany), westnic.eu (Europe), westnic.asia (Asia) etc..

Is it possible to register additional domain names? How much is it?

Sure. You can register additional domain names through our partner, Cityofdomains.com: http://www.cityofdomains.com as low as $8.95 per year + $0.25 ICANN fee. You may also register domain names directly through WestNIC for $11.95 per year. If you have reseller account, you may apply for free eNOM domain reseller account ($995 value).

How long does it take to establish new account?

Your account will be activated within 1 hour if you submit your order between 10 AM - 10 PM EST MON - FRI. Usually, it takes less than 30 minutes! Please read our tips about account activation.

What is your typical response time for technical support?

30-60 minutes if you submit a ticket through support desk. If you need faster response — please use our support desk system. Please note: some complicated tickets require more time to answer. There are level2 and level3 technicians onsite. That means your ticket will be submitted DIRECTLY to WestNIC technician, there is no "middle-man" / time loss issues.

Where are data centers located?

Dallas (Central US), Washington D.C. and Scranton (East Coast US), Seattle (West Coast US). Our resellers can choose data center location during signup. We're planning to add more data center locations in 2009-2010.

We provide you with the advantage of fully redundant connections to the internet backbone, OC3 lines to a redundant climate control system with a back-up HVAC system on stand-by, and multiple UPSs (Uninterruptible Power Supplies), backup servers and network equipment, as well as a central data backup system. What type of servers will my site be hosted on?

New accounts will be placed on professional Dell PowerEdge Dual Xeon 2.8 — 3.4 GHz with 4 - 8 GB of DDR2 RAM and Raptor 10000 RPM or Seagate Barracuda hard drives. We use Redhat Enterprise Linux 4.x or 5.x. We provide most popular control panels: cPanel (latest release) with Web Hosting Manager (latest stable release).

What is processor cache size on the servers?

The processor cache is 8-24 MB (dual or quad core latest Intel processors).

I don't know how to use POP3 email accounts... Do you provide webmail (like yahoo.com) where I can read and write email through web interface?

First of all, if you wish, we can help you setup POP3 email accounts (so you can use it with any known email program). Webmail included in all hosting plans. You can access webmail 24/7 - compose, read, save and much more!

Can I host newsletters? Do you allow mass mailing (legal subscribers!)

Mass mailing prohibited on all shared servers because of CPU usage and complaints. Please outsource your mailling lists / newsletters to third party.

Unlimited domains?! Are you serious?

Yes, we are. Choose hosting plan "ePro" and you will get Unlimited Domain Name Hosting. Each domain name will get separate account with own users, control panel, MySQL data bases and much, much more!

I am hosting 48 domains (separate accounts) with another ISP. "ePRO" hosting plan looks perfect to me. Can you help me to transfer all files to your servers? Any downtime associated with this issue? Any additional/hidden charges? Thank you.

We will be happy to transfer all your files without any "per account" / "per domain" charges. There is no downtime associated with this issue.

What is the difference between Premium and RS-1 hosting plan? Premium hosting plan looks much better!

Yes, you can get more disk space and bandwidth. However, this is basic shared hosting plan (limited features and possibilities). If you look for web hosting business solution and going to resell accounts, please choose any "RS" hosting plan.

I like "RS-2" hosting plan. I want to start my hosting business but have no idea how to create hosting accounts...

You can add new sites through online control panel (cPanel with WHM). Our technical support staff may create new accounts for you and for your clients without any "per account" / "per domain" charges. Send us a list of your/client domains and we will setup them within 24-48 hours!

Do you perform backup?

Yes, we run daily and monthly backups of your data. In the event of permanent data loss, a restoration may occur that will recover your lost files. Backups are run daily and monthly. However, we would like to stress to you how important it is for you and your clients to keep local backups on your local computer or removable media. Reason being that there are instances where backups will run and replace your backup from the previous day. If you've changed something since then and need that backup, chances are we will not have it. So always keep backups stored locally! You can run additional backups at any time through cPanel backup manager.

Do you provide Fantastico? Any fees associated with Fantastico installation?

I don't see Ensim Hosting Plans anymore... Any chance to get Ensim?

We have sold out every Ensim server in January 2004. There are no plans to provide Ensim based hosting in the future.

Am I eligible for refund if I cancel within 90 days after signup?

Absolutely. We do provide 90-day money-back guarantee. Please submit support ticket with domain name, username and last 5 digits of credit card number (or Paypal subscription ID) to support.westnic.net at least 5 days prior billing date. Please note that additional services such are SSLs, script installations, domain registrations etc are nonrefundable.
